A-SPEC COVERS ASSETS ALREADY BUILT

In a first for industry, GISSA has released modified versions of its current specifications to be used for the capture of asset data for assets that already exist. George Havakis the Managing Director of GISSA said "The importance of this is that consultants who already have a process in place for the capture of asset data to comply with A-SPEC can use the same process". The main difference is that not all attributes need to be supplied. Havakis went on to say "We developed these versions as we were often told that it was not practical to capture some of the attributes in the A-SPEC suite, so through discussions with the community we identified which attributes are core".

GISSA's remit is to ensure A-SPEC continues to evolve to address industry needs. Changes are driven by participants of the A-SPEC Community.
